Habitat: Occasional in strip of alluvial forest. Patchy to interrupted canopy dominated by Fraxinus nigra, with occasional Abies balsamea. Tall, lush herbaceous layer dominated by Laportea canadensis and Athyrium angustum. Moist silty soil. Additional associates include Carex stipata, C. gracillima, C. lacustris, Scutellaria lateriflora, Rudbeckia laciniata, Galium asprellum, Thalictrum dasycarpum, Arisaema triphyllum, Echinocystis lobata, Platanthera psycodes, Lycopus uniflorus, Ribes americanum, Parthenocissus ins
