Habitat: Infrequent and local in narrow zone along the water's edge. Wet sand. Full sun most of the day. Associated species include Juncus interior, Eleocharis palustris, Cyperus bipartitus, Carex hysteracina, Leersia oryzoides, Agrostis scabra, A. stolonifera, Phalaris arundinacea, Eupatorium perfoliatum, Cicuta bulbifera, Agalinus paupercula, Lysimachia thyrsiflora, Scutellaria lateriflora, Lycopus uniflorus, Plantago major.
