Habitat:
Local on rather large granite outcrop in a dry oak woodland-bedrock outcrop complex. Several dense patches on lower to middle portions of this sloping, ~30-foot high outcrop. In crevices and in moss mats on ledges. Also, many plants on an east-facing vertical wall of an old quarry. Partial sun to full shade of Quercus ellipsoidalis, Q. macrocarpa, Populus tremuloides, Fraxinus pennsylvanica, Ulmus americana, and Rhamnus cathartica.
