Habitat: Rolling drumlin plain. Locally abundant in small (~1/8-acre) vernal wetland in mesic hardwood forest on broad drumlin. Full sun to partial shade of Tilia americana, Fraxinus nigra, F. pennsylvanica, Acer rubrum, and Ulmus americana. Most common along outer portion of the shallow basin. Forming fairly large and dense clumps. Shallow organic muck over sandy-loam; some plants in shallow water. Associated species include Carex radiata, C. intumescens, Phalaris arundinacea, Mentha arvensis, Cardamine pensylvanic
