Habitat: Rolling forested moraine. Locally common. In narrow zone just inland from the water's edge, adjacent to (and somewhat integrating with) wetter zone dominated by Sparganium androcladum. Moist mucky organic substrate. In full sun. Additional associates include Scirpus cyperinus, Phalaris arundinacea, Calamagrostis canadensis.
