Habitat: In rich conifer swap on gradual slope on east side of river. Patchy canopy dominated by Larix laricina, with occasional Picea mariana and Abies balsamea. sparse understory. In canopy gap (25m2 area). Wet peat; subtle groundwater seepage. Partial shade. Plants rooted in flowieng subterranean water, just below surface of the peat. Associated species include Carex lacustris, C. intumescens, Impatiens capensis, Rubus pubescens, Mitella nuda, Cirsium muticum, Smilacina trifolia, Typha latifolia, Eupatorium maculatum, Rhamnus alnifolia, Ribes hirtellum, Betula glandulifera, Cornus stolonifera.
Description: Local. Loose patch of ~20 rather large clumps. No culms with maroon bases here.
