Habitat: In heavy clay soil. In what looks like a long-abandoned logging road through a wet aspen forest, now a wet sedge-dominated habitat. Other species collected here include Carex canescens, C. aquatilis var. substricta, C. aurea, Equisetum variegatum, Carex granularis.
