Habitat: small, open, wetter areas of small ash swamp along slight drainage way just off the river. Canopy of Fraxinus nigra, F. pennsylvanica, and Ulmus americana. Scattered Alnus incana in understory. Wet, organic substrate. Associates include Poa palustris, Glyceria striata, Carex retrorsa, C. tuckermanii, Polygonum sagittatum, Caltha palustris, Cicuta maculata, Scutellaria lateriflora, Solidago gigantea, Ribes hirtellum.
