Habitat: In filtered light of riparian conifer forest. In mesic to wet/mesic organic substrate, in transitional ecotone within 1m of wetland edge adjacent to low gradient, meandering the channel. Understory fairly open and ground layer sparse. Associates in vicinity: Picea glauca, P. mariana, Alnus incana, Carex gracillima, Petasites frigidus, diervilla lonicera, Calamagrostis canadensis.
