Habitat: Thin soil over bedrock in stunted oak-aspen-pine woodland. Associated with Pteridium aquilinum var. latiusculum. Vaccinium angustifolium, Aster macrophyllus, Rubus strigosus.
Description: Floricane about 40 camlong, erect to high-arching, not tip-rooting. Primocane about 40 cm long, more or less erect, not tip-rooting. Inflorescences and foliage badly damaged by severe drought.
