Habitat: On a sphagnum tussock. In a leatherleaf - sweet gale shore fen. Surrounding peat mat is broken with many pools and unconsolidated. Associates of Myrica gale, Iris versicolor, Calamagrostis canadensis, Alnus incana subsp. rugosa, Potentilla palustris, Caltha palustris, Carex lasiocarpa, Carex lacustris, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Dryopteris cristata, Equisetum fluviatile, Menyanthes trifoliata, and Rhododendron groenlandicum. Larex lacricina and Picea mariana compose the sparse tree layer.
