Habitat:
Plants In mesic, sugar maple-basswood forest. Some scattered elm and ash also present in canopy. Associates: Hydrophyllum virginiana, Viola sororia, Viola pubescens, Geranium maculatum, Arisaema triphyllum, Galium aparine, Laportea canadensis, Isopyrum biternatum, Caulophyllum thalictroides, Uvularia grandiflora, Cardamine concatenata.
