Habitat: Surrounding community is generally mesic Populus tremuloides - Betula papyrifera forest with Abies balsamea in the understory. Specimen growing under full shade. Associates of Carex deweyana var. deweyana, Mertensia paniculata, Carex pedunculuata, Rubus parviflorus, Actaea rubra, Dryopteris carthusiana, and Athyrium filix-femina var. angustum.
Description: Small patch of fruiting individuals.
