Habitat: Throughout a forested peatland white cedar swamp. Topography with abundant hummocks and hollows. Soil substrate is mostly peat moss overlying mucky peat. 4 cm surface water and pH 6.9. Canopy dominated by Thuja occidentalis. Associates of Carex trisperma, Carex disperma, Carex leptalea, Rhododendron groenlandicum, Alnus incana subsp. rugosa, Acer rubrum, Cornus sericea, Phegopteris connectilis, Maianthemum trifolium, and Trientalis borealis.
Description: Population evenly distributed. Most individuals in fruit, about 40 cm tall.
