Habitat: In small calcareous seepage fens, "hanging" on slight, gradually- sloping terrace on mid-slope of fairly steep, 70 foot, S-facing slope forming the bank of ancient river channel. In several distinct discharge zones amidst overgrazes pasture. Saturated peat. Associates: Carex prairie, C. hystericana, C. granularis, C. prairea, Juncus alpinoarticulatus, Scirpus pungens, S. atrovirens, Rhynchospora capillacea, Glyceria striata, Muhlenbergia glomerata, M. richardsonis, Triglochin palustris, Parnassia glauca, Pedicularis lanceolata.
