Habitat: In small calcareous seepage fens "hanging" on slight, gradually-sloping terrace on mid-slope of fairly steep, 70 ft, S-facing slope. Growing around margins of several distinct discharge zones. On closely-cropped hummocks amidst overgrazed pasture. Deep saturated peat. Associates include Juncus alpinoarticulatus, Carex sterilis, C. granularis, C. tetanica, Scirpus pungens, Rhynchospora capillacea, Echinochloa crusgalli, Cyperus bipartitus, Triglochin palustris, Gentianopsis procera, Lycopus uniflorus, Parnassia glauca, Lobelia kalmii.
