Habitat: Level to gently-rolling outwash plain ... patterned rich sedge fen in large wetland complex forming the headwaters ... in broad flarks dominated by Carex lasiocarpa. Deep, quaky, saturated sedge peat over marl; often in shallow water (above average precipitation for spring/summer to date). Full sun. Additional associates include Muhlenbergia glomerata, Calamagrostis inexpansa, Carex limosa, C. chordorrhiza, C. prairea, Eriophorum gracile, Potamogeton gramineus, Utricularia intermedia, U. minor, Equisetum fluviatile.
