Habitat: Large granite outcrop rising to 15 feet above surrounding sand plain; in larger bedrock cracks and in shallow soil between areas of exposed rock. In full sun. Associates include Andropogon gerardii, Poa compressa, Danthonia spicata, Bulbostylis capillaris, Selaginella rupestris, Talinum parviflorum, Ambrosia coronopifolia, Woodsia ilvensis, Polygonum tenue.
