Habitat: Northerly-facing rocky slope with Betula papyrifera, Abies balsamea, Populus tremuloides, Pinus strobus, Lycopodium clavatum, L. dendroideum, Botrychium multifidum, etc. Occurring mid-slope and on edge of old woods trail.
Associated Species: Vaccinium angustifolium, Fragaria virginiana, Viola novae-angliae, Taraxacum erythrospermum, Luzula acuminata, Danthonia spicata, Poa pratensis, etc.
