Habitat: Lanky plants. NNW-facing bedrock slope with Picea mariana, Abies balsamea, Acer spicatum, Lonicera canadensis, Hylocomnium splendens, Rhytidiadelphus triquetris, etc.
Associated Species: Picea mariana, Larix laricina, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Sarracenia purpurea, Scheuchzeria palustris, Rhynchospora alba, Carex lasiocarpa, C. chordorrhiza, etc.
