Habitat: NNW-facing bedrock wall in mossy pillows of small shelves with other nearby Huperzia clumps, Hylocomnium splendens, Polytrichum sp., Pleurozium schreberi, etc.
Associated Species: Thuja occidentalis, Fraxinus nigra, Alnus incana, Platanthera huronensis, P. clavellata, Calamagrostis canadensis, Carex echinata, C. leptalea, etc.
