Habitat: Wet, disturbed area in young Pinus banksiana forest with Rubus idaeus, Corylus cornuta, Ribes americanum, Pteridium aquilinum, etc. Stems more or less trailing; flowers in leaf axils.
Associated Species: Larix laricina, Populus balsamifera, Alnus incana, Salix pyrifolia, S. lucida, Doellingeria umbellata, Solidago canadensis, S. nemoralis, Euphrasia nemorosa, etc.
