Habitat: Bedrock outcrop-woodland with Pinus banksiana, Abies balsamea, Acer rubrum, Picea mariana, Vaccinium angustifolium, Maianthemum canadense, Rumex acetosella, Danthonia spicata, Pleurozium schreberi, etc. Shallow soils in cracks of bedrock.
