Habitat: Occasional in rich tamarack swamp of basin. Growing from Sphagnum and other mosses carpet with well-developed microtopography of hummocks and hollows.
Associated Species: Associates include Alnus incana, Rhododendron groenlandicum, Carex leptalea, Carex trisperma, Carex disperma, Glyceria striata, Cornus canadensis, Salix pedicillaris, Rhamnus alnifolia, Betula pumila, Carex pseudocyperus, Lonicera villosa, Coptis trifolia, Thelypteris palustris, Chelone glabra.
