Habitat: Small groups of plants in shady lowland black ash and white cedar forest. Growing from moss-covered coarse woody debris in shallow depression pool.
Associated Species: Associates include Lycopus uniflora, Fragaria virginiana, Impatiens capensis, Calamagrostis canadensis, Glyceria striata, Rubus pubescens, Coptis trifolia, Maianthemum trifolium, Carex trisperma, C. disperma, C. intumescens, C. leptalea, Gymnocarpium drypopteris, Mitella nuda, Cirecea alpina, Galium triflorum.
