Habitat: Extensive wet meadow/marsh/shrub swamp/floodplain forest complex along old channels ... growing on higher areas of shrub swamp and scrubby floodplain forest in partial shade of Ulmus americana, Salix amygdaloides & Alnus incana. Associates include Glyceria striata, Carex vulpinoidea, Galium obtusum, Rudbeckia laciniata, Amphicarpaea bracteata.
