Habitat: Large wetland complex in rolling forested moraine ... in rich spring fen in ~ten-acre opening in tamarack swamp ... Moderately quaky, deep saturated peat (firmer and drier than normal due to extended drought). Full sun to partial shade of Betula glandulifera and small Larix laricina. Continuous carpets of Bryales mosses. Associates include Carex chordorrhiza, C. limosa, C. livida, C. lasiocarpa, C. diandra, C. interior, Muhlenbergia glomerata, Agrostis scabra, Aster borealis, Triglochin maritima, Cicuta bulbifera Menyanthes trifoliata, Salix candida.
