Habitat: in major groundwater seepage zone ... along seepage flows, and on margins of the small, clear, cold creek in the immediate vicinity of the springs. Rooted in a layer of organic muck over sand. Mostly in full sun, some plants in partial shade of adjacent tamarack-black spruce swamp. Associated species include Myosotis scorpioides, Impatiens capensis, Caltha palustris, Aster puniceus.
