Habitat: In an open oak-aspen woodland dominated by Quercus ellipsoidalis and Populus tremuloides. In dry sandy soil, partial shade. Associated with Rhus radicans var. rydbergii, Amelanchier laevis, Salix humilis, Rubus allegheniensis.
Description: Primocane 1.3 m long, arching. Floricane 1.8 m , tip-rooting.
