Habitat: Growing in open brome field along mowed path. associated species: Pimpinella saxifraga, Centaurea maculosa, Carduus sp., Hypericum perforatum, Phalaris arundinacea, Bromus inermis.
Description: moderately dispersed. Flower buds present, but was too early to see flowers. Brown flower bracts distinctive with papery extension and fringes protruding further. Leaves mostly entire with sporadic lobing/teeth towards the bottom of stem and leaves reduced and entire moving up the stem. Looks perennial with multiple stems from previous root stocks.
