Habitat: open pasture, on top of small knoll
Description: Height 10-12 feet, caespitose, bark smooth reddish gray, buds slightly hairy. Petals 8 1/2-10 mm long x 2.5-3 mm wide; widest beyond middle. Sepals 2 1/2-3 mm long x 1.5-2 mm wie, recurved when in full flower, smooth below, tomentose above. Hypanthium 4-5 mm diameter.
