Habitat: Uncommon and local on dry bedrock shore. Scattered small clumps growing amongst Xanthoria lichens, along crevices of exposed rhyolite ~20 feet above lake level. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Potentilla tridentata, P. fruticosa, Campanula rotundifolia, Achillea millefolium, Deschampsia cespitosa, Festuca brachyphylla, Trisetum spicatum, Poa glauca.
