Locality: United States, Minnesota, Carlton, Rolling forested moraine between the Little Net River and State Line Creek, three miles east-southeast of Holyoke, 20 miles east of the town of Moose Lake. NW1/4 of NE1/4 Sec. 23, Nemadji State Forest

Habitat: Local in rich hardwood-conifer swamp dominated by Fraxinus nigra, with occasional Thuja occidentalis, Betula papyrifera, B. allegheniensis, and Abies balsamea. Understory of Abies balsamea and Alnus incana. Small patch of ~a dozen plants in moist to wet organic substrate.
Associated Species: Associates include Onoclea sensibilis, Osmunda cinnamomea, Dryopteris cristata, Mitella nuda, Lycopus uniflorus, Rubus pubescens, Ribes triste, Calamagrostis canadensis.
