Habitat:
Local in graminoid poor fen in a small (~3-acre) depression. Frequent here, forming patches in wetter, subtly lower depressions in the saturated and moderately spongy peat. In settings dominated by Rhynchospora alba. Full sun.

Additional associates include Drosera intermedia, Xyris montana, Scheuchzeria palustris, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Andromeda glaucophylla, Carex limosa.
