Habitat: Occasional in the ecotone between upland aspen-birch-fir forest and a sedge fen wetland. Mesic to rather moist sandy-loam, with shallow organic cap in the moister spots. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Calamagrostis canadensis, Agrostis scabra, Scirpus cyperinus, Iris versicolor, Mentha arvensis, Scutellaria galericulata, Lysimachia terrestris, Lycopus uniflorus, Spiraea alba.
