Habitat: Locally abundant, forming the dominant cover in a small (~1/2-acre) wetland depression between 10- to 20-foot high upland rises. Shallow, semi-permanent / seasonal wetland that is currently nearly dry due to drought conditions. Forms large dense clumps in moist mucky soil along the deepest (central) portion of the shallow basin. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Glyceria borealis, Torreyochloa pallida, Bidens cernua, Sium suave, Sparganium glomeratum.
