Habitat: Occasional locally in the bed of a dry side channel (old oxbow). Gravelly boulder-strewn substrate in habitat that is flooded and scoured during spring runoff and other high water events. Mostly in full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Populus balsamifera seedlings, Salix lucida, S. discolor, S. bebbiana, Bidens frondosa, Aster umbellatus, Eupatorium maculatum, Lycopus uniflorus, Prenanthes alba, Lotus corniculatus, Plantago major, Agrostis scabra, A. stolonifera, Lolium perenne.
