Rather large patch on gentle slope atop a steep, 100-foot, northwest-facing bluff. Clay loam; thick needle litter. Mesic pine-hardwood forest dominated by large Pinus strobus, with occasional Quercus alba and Tilia americana. Understory of Pinus strobus, Ostrya virginiana, and Acer saccharum. Trailing over and thru needle litter, in ~500-foot2 area.
