Habitat:
Rare and local atop a 160-foot high rock-core meander bluff (steep-sided and isolated bedrock ridge that rises from the valley bottom). In partial shade of Juniperus virginiana. Small patches growing amongst mosses in thin soil over bedrock atop 80-foot high dolomite cliffs that line the northern end of the narrow ridge top.
