Habitat: Occasional in moist woods on alluvial terrace on west side of the stream. Canopy dominated by Fraxinus nigra, with occasional Betula papyrifera. Understory of Acer spicatum, Alnus incana, and Abies balsamea. Moist clay.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Carex arctata, C. gracillima, Equisetum arvense, E. sylvaticum, Athyrium angustum, Osmunda claytoniana, Ranunculus hispidus, Thalictrum dioicum, Fragaria virginiana, Rubus pubescens.
