Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Fairly rugged forested terrain between the Gooseberry River and Dago Creek, one mile west-southwest of London Crossing, twelve miles north-northeast of Two Harbors. Just north of the North Shore State Trail. N1/2 of SE1/4 of NW1/4 Sec. 3

Habitat: Uncommon and local in mature mesic hardwood forest atop 150-foot ridge. Canopy dominated locally by Acer saccharum and Quercus rubra. Understory of Acer saccharum and Ostrya virginiana. On gentle south-facing slope above the crest of the ridge.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Carex pensylvanica, Uvularia sessilifolia, Maianthemum canadense, Aster macrophyllus, Aralia nudicaulis.
