Habitat: Locally abundant in a gravel pit. Forming dense colonies in small shallow ponds (excavated), in water 3-8 inches deep. Taller plants partially emergent, but these often leaning over onto the surface of the water. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Eleocharis palustris, Scirpus cyperinus, Typha x glauca, Juncus alpinoarticulatus.
