Uncommon on talus slope along the lower portion of an extremely steep, 170- to 240-foot, north-facing slope overlooking a large conifer swamp. In moss mats on large blocks of diorite talus. Level to moderately steep areas. Talus variously open, or covered by scattered shrubs and small trees. Dozens of green clumps here. A few additional clumps on small north-facing cliff faces above the talus. Partially to fully shaded mesic settings, due both to the northerly aspect, and trees such as Picea mariana, P. glauca, and Betula cordifolia.
