Locally frequent on the middle portion of a 30- to 40-foot, north-facing, mesic greywacke cliff rising from the river bed. Along mossy crevices and in small mossy depressions on the much pitted, vertical to steeply-sloping rock face. ~100 small yellow-colored clumps. Partial shade due to the north aspect of the cliff, and from Thuja occidentalis, Pinus strobus, and P. resinosa growing atop the cliff.
