Habitat: Local, uncommon on a 30- to 40-foot high, north-facing, mesic greywacke cliff rising from the river bed. Small patches along mossy crevices beneath slightly overhanging ledges lower to middle portions of the much pitted, vertical to steeply-sloping rock face. Shaded by the north aspect of the cliff and by Thuja occidentalis, Pinus strobus, and P. resinosa growing atop the cliff.
Associated Species: Associated species include Cystopteris fragilis, Campanula rotundifolia.
