Habitat:
Local on gently-sloping upper portion of a 90-foot south-facing slope (which is quite steep below) above the river. Infrequent in aspen forest dominated by immature (~25-year old) Populus tremuloides. Mesic clay substrate. Scattered understory trees, 3-15 feet tall and to 2 inches D.B.H. Red fruits.
