Habitat: Recently survived upper reaches of flood waters on oxbow of Little Fork River. Film of silt still on leaves. At edge of canopy opened by recent logging.
Associated Species: Growing with Matteuccia struthiopteris, Laportea canadensis, Elymus virginicus, Cystopteris bulbifera, Rubus pubescens, Cryptotaenia canadensis, and Thalictrum dasycarpum.
Description: Palea approx. 9mm, 8-9 leaves per culm, largest 13mm wide with long, stiff hairs on upper surface.
