ID Remarks: Fitting this species except that the ascospores of this specimen fall at, and slightly below the bottom of thie size range given by Dennis (1978, p. 307-308) for that species.

Substrate: on moist but firm decorticated wood, probably Populus tremuloides
Associated Species: Populus tremuloides
Notes: Other fungi on the same substrate: a long-necked species of Eutypa or Eutypella whose black long-necked perithecia appear commonly among the perithecia of the Lasiosphaeria. Two SMF semipermanent microscope slides accompany the dried herbarium specimen -
