Morphology and basidiospores agree with descriptions of this species, e.g., H. Knudsen and J. Vesterholt, eds., Funga Nordica (2012) and Miller and Miller (2006), North American Mushrooms, but colors of the fresh and dried fruiting bodies in this collection are much darker and the white universal veil is much thicker and more persistent than reported for this species. Sequence needed to confirm identification.
