good quality mesic to wet tallgrass praire; B quality wet-mesic tallfrass prairie occus on a SSE facing gentle slope W of a drainageway; soil at the collextion site is mapped in the couty soil survey (1982) as Clyde-Floyd complex, 1 to 4 % slopes (391B). Clyde clay loam, 0-3 % slopes (84) is a Typic Haplaquoll (this soil is now called Clyde silty clay loam and it is classified as a Typic Endoaquoll) and Floyd loam, 1 to 4 % slopes (198B) is an Aquic Hapludoll (this soil is now classified as an Aquic Pachic Hapludoll)
Amphicarpaea bracteata, Carex, Equisetum arvense, Euthamia graminifolia, Gentiana andrewsii, Helianthus grosseserratus, Onoclea sensibilis, Phlox maculata, Prunus americana, Ranunculus, Solidago gigantea, Thalictrum dasycarpum, Thelypteris palustris, Viola
170+ ramets in the wet-mesic tallgrass prairie in three different subpopulations about 10m apart (north to south) ; less than 30% of the ramets have immature green sporophores and the rest are sterile
